PASE Apache tools (old Zend Core)

  • Apache ab - useful PASE tool to simulate browsers (no longer shipped with Zend Server)
  • Install
    • PC (somewhere)
      > unzip apache2.zip
      apache2.tar  -- this file in zip
      ftp binary apache2.tar to /usr/local/Zend (see below)
      
      IBM i (5250):
      call qp2term
      > mkdir -p /usr/local/Zend
      > cd /usr/local/Zend
      > tar -xf apache2.tar
      
  • Run
    • IBM i (5250):
      call qp2term
      > cd /usr/local/Zend/apache2/bin
      > ab -t 25 -c 10 http://myibmi/tests/xmlservice/xxtoolkit_raw.php
      > ab -t 25 -c 10 http://myibmi/tests/xmlservice/xxtoolkit_new.php
      > ab -t 25 -c 10 http://myibmi/tests/xmlservice/xxtoolkit_cw.php
      -t 25 -- 25 seconds
      -c 10 -- 10 concurrent browsers (simulates ten browsers)
      
  • Run web site using basic authentication (ab -A userid:password )
    • IBM i (5250):
      call qp2term
      > cd /usr/local/Zend/apache2/bin
      > ab -A userid:password -t 25 -c 10 http://myibmi/tests/xmlservice/xxtoolkit_raw.php
      > ab -A userid:password -t 25 -c 10 http://myibmi/tests/xmlservice/xxtoolkit_new.php
      > ab -A userid:password -t 25 -c 10 http://myibmi/tests/xmlservice/xxtoolkit_cw.php
      -t 25 -- 25 seconds
      -c 10 -- 10 concurrent browsers (simulates ten browsers)
